Welcome to the D&B D-U-N-S Request Service
for US Federal Government Contractors and Assistance Awardees

On April 4, 2022, GSA transitioned away from the D-U-N-S® Number and began using the Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) for purposes of registering in SAM.gov. The UEI is owned by the federal government and is generated in SAM.gov.

Some government contractors will still require a company to have a D-U-N-S Number, which you may already have. If not, you can apply for a FREE D-U-N-S Number. The D-U-N-S Number is globally recognized and utilized for contract checks, compliance check, business credit and funding, and other business use cases with 90% of Fortune 500 companies.

NEXT STEPS:
In most cases, will be helpful to register for your business' UEI and also for your business to have a D-U-N-S Number (request one for free if your business does not already have one).
  • To register for your Unique Identifier for some government contracts (UEI) visit SAM.gov
  • To request your free D-U-N-S Number, visit Get a D-U-N-S® Number
FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

For additional information on the change in the UEI, visit this page on SAM.gov.

For information about the benefits of maintaining both the UEI and your D-U-N-S visit dnb.com.
